Hailed as a “coup-de-force” when it first premiered in 2021, this sci-fi drama unfolds in the year 2250, on a military base in Colorado. Lomond is a Seeker, hired by the military for his ability to access and analyze other people’s memories. Summoned to take part in a top-secret mission, he finds himself confronted by his ex-wife who he will have to work with on the mission. As the Seeker grapples with one of the most complex enigmas of his career, the two exes must not only navigate the complicated emotional terrain between them, but uncover a truth that could change the fate of all humanity.

Seeker originally premiered to critical acclaim in French at Montréal’s Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui in 2021, where audiences and reviewers praised Marie-Claude Verdier’s compelling blend of speculative science fiction and deeply human drama. The play, which went on to win the prestigious Michel Tremblay Award for Best New Play, is an urgent and provocative story of humanity’s relentless quest for meaning, connection, and survival beyond Earth.
